Champ Thornton

Co-Host of Ogletown Baptist Church

Champ began serving as associate pastor at Ogletown in 2012. Growing up in a Christian family, he came to know Christ as Savior while attending a retreat during high school. Champ and his wife, Robben, have been married since 1996 and have three energetic children.

Before coming to Delaware, Champ lived most of his life in the Carolinas. After seminary, he pastored at Grace Bible Church near Spartanburg, South Carolina. In addition to pastoral ministry, Champ co-leads the Delaware Baptist Association and has served as director of SOMA, a ministry training school in Columbus, Ohio. He has also authored several books including The Radical Book for Kids.

Champ enjoys hanging out with his family and friends, drinking coffee, listening to music, and reading theology, biography, and fiction. Some of his favorite authors include John Piper, D. A. Carson, Tim Keller, Jonathan Edwards, David McCullough, Robert Caro, and C. S. Lewis. He has also been known to cheer for the NY Yankees and Tennessee Volunteers.
